History
The "Siena Club Auto e Moto d'Epoca - SCAME" Club was founded in 1978 by a group of passionate collectors, lovers of the construction techniques and style of Italian and foreign cars and motorbikes, which have characterized the last century in the their various uses. Over the years this group has grown considerably with the entry of numerous new members, with the same passion and interest in knowing and in some way retracing the history and evolution of motorsport in all its genres. The Club is federated with the "Automotoclub Storico Italiano - ASI", a non-profit organization, recognized with Presidential Decree 977/80, with headquarters in Turin. furthermore recognized by the State the task (art. 63 L. 342/2000) of identifying with its own decisions, the means to be considered of historical and cultural interest. For this reason it constitutes the reference point of the Ministries of Finance and Transport, for the enactment of Laws and Regulations, relating to the categories of historic vehicles, in tax matters, for special regulations relating to circulation and car inspection, for derogations from fuel regulations, for customs operations, etc. "The Club aims to promote and protect the general interests of motoring and historic motorcycling, encourage the purchase, restoration, conservation, display, maintenance of motor vehicles of historical interest and lectoristic ". (Statute art. 2) In this context, the Club provides for the organization of exhibitions of "historic cars" by defining the theme or the particular historical period to be treated, it promotes conferences aimed at analyzing topics relating to the technological development of the means by making available of the Members as necessary to achieve the goals of the Club and organizes events. It prepares the paperwork for the "recognition" of vehicles of historical interest and submits them to the approval of the ASI National Commission, providing information and carrying out services relating to the conservation and maintenance of the historic automotive and motorcycle heritage. In order to pursue the aforementioned social activities, the Club makes its Headquarters located in an easily accessible place available to Members, allowing a better use of the services and making it a meeting place and exchange of ideas between people who share the same passion. . For the realization of the purposes described, choices have been and continue to be made that have an economic and human commitment, allowing the Club Members to show the passion that distinguishes those who are certain that the scrupulous and diligent conservation of the assets, which have left a imprint in the life of society, may serve to better understand the path of modern man.
